Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys + Levin Goes Lightly

In the organizer's words:

LUCY KRUGER & THE LOST BOYS + LEVN GOES LIGHTLY

LUCY KRUGER & THE LOST BOYS
Anyone who encounters Lucy Kruger's music will witness a unique journey of perpetual reflection that produces an ever-expanding arc of creativity.
Music from the in-between realm on the border between dream and waking state is how Lucy Kruger herself describes her music-making. The "in-between" remains her theme: oscillating between her birthplace Cape Town and her adopted home of Berlin, lyrically between isolation and longing for human contact and musically between Low and Mazzy Star.
The whole thing is wrapped up in atmospheric slowcore sounds.

Moving on is something Kruger is familiar with.
She grew up in Johannesburg, where she began writing songs as a 16-year-old, and laid the foundations for her rousing, passionate live performances while studying music and drama in Grahamstown.

The Lost Boys first appeared on their debut album "Summer's Not That Simple" (2017), which was released in collaboration with Cape Town-based label Permanent Records. Since then, the band has evolved into an evolving group of musicians who help bring the intimacy and urgency of Lucy's songs to life.

Her second album 'Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls' (2019) was released by German-based labels Unique Records and Schubert Music, both of which came into contact with her music through live performances when she was on tour supporting Laura Carbone in January 2019.
Since then, she has recorded two follow-up albums to "Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls".
The three albums form a trilogy of tapes documenting a process of finding the courage to make a mess and maybe a bit of noise in order to become.

Her new album "A Human Home" was released in May 2024.

"Lucy Kruger and the Lost Boys sounded fantastic. A wonderful indie rock voice (confident but fragile at the same time) displaying a defiant musical punk attitude." (Luminous Dash)

LEVN GOES LIGHTLY
"History is sweet and we are vulnerable, reality is constant and horrifying."

Levin Goes Lightly's sound is majestic and driving, his performances sweaty and glamorous.
The songwriting is known for its profound lyrics and musical versatility.
From melancholic melodies to powerful post-punk beats, he manages to weave impressive emotions into his sound in a unique way.

The androgynous eccentric has been touring solo or with different line-ups for 10 years.
The musicians/producers Paul Schwarz (drums) and Thomas Zehnle (guitar) have been an integral part of the band for several years. LGL also perform live at certain gigs as a five-piece band with Julia Kalb on bass and Alica Scetinina (aka Gaisma) on synthesizer.
"Numb", their fifth longplayer, will be released in October 2024 and explores the depths of post-punk, cold wave and dancefloor.

The melodic vocals alternate between German
and English to the driving electronic beats, cool synthesizers, warm organ tones and wavy guitar parts.
In his typically quirky imagery, Levin Goes Lightly tells of toxic relationships, dark periods in life and great love. "Is it beautiful when it's sad?" asks Levin Goes Lightly and promptly delivers the affirmative answer with his new album, proving that bittersweet sadness can even be beautiful AND danceable.
