Luke Carter – Every • Body • Drawing: Partizipatives Aktzeichnen

In the organizer's words:

The workshop will be led by our exhibiting artist, Luke Carter.

In this life drawing workshop, we’ll explore the traditional relationship between artist and model. Instead of having an external person in front of us, each participant will both draw and model.

Through various drawing exercises that focus on expression, spontaneity, and openness, we’ll explore new ways of depicting the human body. Together, we’ll take turns posing—wearing as much or as little clothing as each person feels comfortable with. Drawing and modeling together opens up new perspectives on the human body and invites us to critically examine traditional notions of nudity.

We place great importance on treating one another with respect. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Together, we will create the safest possible space for everyone involved. People of all body types and identities are welcome—no prior drawing experience is required.

Please bring your own materials. We recommend:

  • A4 or A3 paper or sketchbooks
  • Charcoal
  • Pencils in various hardnesses
  • Colored drawing materials (e.g., colored pencils or pastels)
