In her impressive debut novel, Luna Ali tells how the events in Syria inscribe themselves into the life, actions and language of her protagonist. And so "Da waren Tage" poses urgent questions about the significance of political action and collective desire in our present day.

Chris Grodotzki: "No land in sight":

Chris Grodotzki, an activist from the very beginning looks back on stories of flight and escape aid to Europe, on highly symbolic rescue ships, their missions and their criminalization. In conversation with long-time shipmates, he discusses questions about the lived politics and philosophy of sea rescue, reflects on moments of resistance and concludes with some of the movement's main figures reflecting on its future prospects.
