Maaßkultur mit PATRICK SHURETY

EDEKA Maaß Oberneuland, together with Emotional.Zone, Oberneuland Magazin, Rausgegangen.de and Cafe-Schwarz.TV, has been presenting Maaßkultur every Wednesday from May to October since 2023. From 17:30 to 20:30, whereby... the end of the concert is largely determined by the audience (i.e. you)!

PATRICK SHURETY

Deeply rooted in Celtic folk, but always open to new influences from blues, prog rock and pop, Patrick Shurety writes songs about empty streets full of memories, about self-doubt, optimism, exploitation and the little people behind the fame of those who made history. However, this rarely sounds angry or sad, but sometimes soft and warm like a cuddly blanket, sometimes rocky and playful with unexpected twists and turns.

Patrick Shurety has been on the road around his base in Bielefeld for several years now, over 10 years as frontman of the cover band b-sides live, and currently as singer, songwriter and guitarist of the Neighbourhood Blues Band. Every now and then, a rather electronic song by Social Android pops up on various streaming services, then it must have been bad weather again...

And he always likes to play solo in pubs, small clubs and at private events.
The program is always adapted a little to the audience, with individually interpreted cover versions from radio pop, blues and the various facets of folk. There are always notes and pens ready for requests from the audience. Sometimes the Toten Hosen follow Louis Armstrong, Metallica follow John Denver...you'll never know...

Or to put it another way: Christy Moore, Leonard Cohen and Paul Simon. Plus a pinch of Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour and a little dash of Jean Michel Jarre (or Klaus Schulze). This is left to simmer for a long time under the supervision of Yes and IQ and sent around the country for a few years.

Free admission to Maaßkultur, we collect with the hat. Just come along and enjoy good music and good conversation with acquaintances, friends and strangers, or maybe even a little dance!!!?
Don't worry about Bremen's shietwetter, if it rains too much we'll simply move to our favorite café. The Lieblingscafé will also offer a special snack menu on the evenings of MAASSKULTUR, so you can enjoy your evening meal on site.
Enjoy a few hours of music in a relaxed atmosphere on our (hopefully always summery) square with musicians and bands from a wide variety of genres. And if you like it - musicians love spotlights - then you are welcome to leave something for the musicians and bands...
