The young Wuppertal artist group Karo Muster are four artists who use a wide variety of media to take a cheeky and playful look at norms, stuffiness and clichés. The group's enigmatic and narrative paintings, installations and photographs intertwine in such a way that a surreal, artificial and almost perfect reality is feigned using a wide variety of materials. At first glance, the works appear naïve and playful, but they have a depth of content that encourages the viewer to puzzle them together and think further. Political approaches are also addressed in an ironic or sarcastic way in order to humorously question role models.
