„Man muss Geduld haben mit dem Ungelösten im Herzen.“ Rainer Maria Rilke - mit Helmut Thiele
In the organizer's words:
Rainer Maria Rilke is one of the most significant poets of classical modernism. He was born in 1875 and died in 1926—100 years ago. His vivid imagery and powerful phrasing continue to make him a widely revered author around the world to this day. This is due not only to his famous “object poems,” but also to his prose and his countless letters to contemporaries—not least to female artists and society ladies.
The reading takes the audience on a journey through Rilke’s poetic world: the program features selected poems, aphorisms, letters, and an excerpt from his early cult classic *The Ballad of Love and Death of Cornet Christoph Rilke*.
After studying acting and singing in Vienna, Helmut Thiele received his first engagement at the Landestheater Linz, followed by long-term engagements in Coburg, Osnabrück, and at the Celler Schlosstheater. Since 2002, he has been a freelance actor with numerous international engagements. In addition to various television roles (including in “Schwejk”), he has made guest appearances at the Stadttheater Bremen, the Staatstheater Kassel, in The Hague, in Tver (CIS), and in Moscow.
