Manifesta 16 Ruhr: „Off Script“: Lesung mit Dinçer Güçyeter in der Kirche Christ-König in Bochum
In the organizer's words:
Dinçer Güçyeter, born in Nettetal in 1979, is a theater artist, poet, editor, and founder of ELIF Verlag, a publishing house specializing in regional and international poetry. With humor, intimacy, and expressiveness, his work bridges the Lower Rhine and Anatolia, exploring themes of migration, family, identity, and belonging. His novel *Unser Deutschlandmärchen* is currently being translated into several languages and adapted into three theatrical productions.
The event will be moderated by Negar Foroughanfar and organized in collaboration with Bahnhof Langendreer and the Ready Made bookstore. It is part of “Off Script,” a series of events within the Spotlights program of Manifesta 16 Ruhr. The Spotlights program is developed in collaboration with institutions, initiatives, and stakeholders from the region. It focuses on the perspectives of people whose daily lives are shaped by experiences of discrimination. Through participatory formats, the program creates spaces for community, exchange, and empowerment through creative forms of expression.
The reading will be held in German. Free admission; registration is not required.
