The traditional Christmas market at the water tower is one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany. The surrounding Art Nouveau ensemble consisting of Friedrichsplatz and the water tower forms an impressive backdrop for the 150 or so huts decorated for Christmas. Here you will find everything your heart desires: traditional Christmas decorations, warming woolen items, special spices - and of course there is also plenty to eat and drink.

Two special highlights at the Christmas market at the water tower are the 18-metre-high Christmas pyramid with a café on the second floor and the 130-year-old children's carousel with fairground organ. With a warming mulled wine in your hand and Christmas fairground music in your ear, you are guaranteed to get into the Advent spirit. In addition, there is an atmospheric stage program with dancing, singing and theater every day from 6 pm.

Mannheim's Christmas market at the water tower is known far beyond the city limits and attracts visitors from near and far to the city of squares. There is an underground parking garage directly beneath Friedrichsplatz. However, due to the large number of visitors, there is not always a parking space available. If you don't want to look for a parking space, you can easily get there by public transport. There are three streetcar stops and a bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the water tower. From Mannheim main station, you can even reach the water tower on foot in less than 10 minutes.
