Maren Kips KollektIV: Drifting

A huge crane rising up against the clattering sounds of a cicada, slumbering hearts and time running away. All this and more finds its way through unusual time signatures, complex melodies and jazz-influenced harmonies. The Maren Kips KollektIV creates distinctive music that oscillates between playful pop and song-oriented jazz.

With her unmistakable warm voice, singer Maren Kips takes center stage and reveals a very personal side with her music. With her quartet, she now presents new, as yet unreleased songs. Born in Cologne and living in Mannheim, the artist gathers musicians around her who speak more than one musical language. The Ukrainian pianist Yuriy Sych, who lives in Frankfurt and was awarded the Hessian Jazz Prize, has been working with her for many years as her "right-hand man". Each member of this collective has strong solo skills.
