When you ask Marita how long she has been singing, she shrugs her shoulders. "Always, actually. My parents say that I used to sing myself to sleep as a small child." Later, she sang at family celebrations and at some point in front of her piano teacher - but only when he left the room, otherwise she wouldn't have dared. These memories alone perfectly summarize what marita's music is all about to this day.
The 23-year-old newcomer doesn't need much more than white and black keys and maybe a few drums. The result is a reduced, dark sound design that she shapes into melancholy, bittersweet songs with her passion for German rap lyrics - she calls it dark pop herself.
Music about dark thoughts and sad topics, about the little things that mean the world at that moment. Unpolished, direct and so close, as if marita had closed the door to the world, as she did back then, and made music just for herself. Rare, but unique.
In addition to her support shows for various artists, she is building up a loyal fan base that is ready to shed tears with her at upcoming live shows. In doing so, marita has remained true to her own melancholic, honest sound and in her own way is paving a path for her musical development that will accompany us from now on.
In 2025, the young artist will not only release new songs, but also share her remarkable voice with the world live at shows and festivals.
