The critic is right - you really can't expect more from music than what Cologne guitarist Markus Segschneider offers in abundance as a soloist: beautiful melodies, harmonies that are both gentle and yet delightful, an incredible richness of sound, an almost classically beautiful tone on steel strings, sparkling runs at the speed of oiled lightning, a rich groove, perfect timing. There seem to be no limits to what Markus Segschneider can do with and on his guitar, and his fingerstyle certainly doesn't seem to recognize stylistic boundaries: Jazz, folk, pop, funk - everything is effortlessly interwoven to create music that conveys the lively mood of a picture-book summer morning.
