Don't Mention the War. Interdisciplinary concert
"I want my concerts to tell a story," says Martha Bijlsma. With her fellowship production, the Dutch cellist is breaking the silence that surrounded her grandmother's past as a Holocaust survivor for decades. Based on personal research, she interweaves archive material, video art and scenic elements with solo and chamber music as well as Jewish folk songs.
The fellowship program is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Bonn
