MY FRIEND BARRY

At the beginning of the 19th century: after the death of their parents, brothers Georg and Alfons set off on a dangerous journey across the Alps in the hope of a better life in Italy. When Georg falls ill, he stays behind in a remote monastery. The twelve-year-old initially feels like a stranger there and is ostracized. He finds support in his friendship with the girl Resi and the St. Bernard puppy Barry, whom he raises and trains as an avalanche dog. The close relationship between Georg and Barry is heart-warming and encouraging.
