Content:
In his autobiographical documentary, Kurdish director Yüksel Yavuz paints a sensitive portrait of his father. From 1968 onwards, he worked for 15 years as a so-called guest worker at a Hamburg shipyard without ever really feeling at home in Germany. After fifteen years of hard work, he finally returned to his home village. The film vividly illuminates the familial and social dimensions of labor migration as well as biographical narratives in this context.
