Melanie Barth plays the second solo concert in the "Accordion Marathon" on the theater ship. It was opened by Maxim Shagaev on the button accordion. In the first half of the year, masters will be presented in individual concerts. From 16 - 18.10.2026, the Theaterschiff will go ashore in the Französische Kirche, where it will host the "Accordion Marathon Days" over a weekend, in which all the soloists who previously performed individually will perform together in a concert.

With "Ché Accordeon!", Melanie Barth tells her very personal story with words and music. Over the course of her life, the accordion has been her companion, support, source of strength and artistic home in moments of happiness as well as in times of crisis. The evening tells of a journey through her life and musically through the world, in search of identity. How does music carry you through the storms of life and how do you transform all this into sound? With tongue-in-cheek humor, poetic depth and virtuosity, Melanie Barth shares her love for an instrument that is often underestimated, not least because of its weight. In her solo recital, she shows it in all its facets - powerful, poetic and surprising.

Melanie Barth is a versatile accordionist with classical training at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. Her musical journey has taken her from the classical music of the concert hall to lively world music - with a particular passion for Tango Argentino. She has played in the Berlin Philharmonie, has been part of international productions, theater evenings, film scores and has thrilled audiences with her nuanced playing in a wide variety of ensembles and formats. She combines virtuosity with passion. Her playing is as versatile as her musical paths.
