The duo Mellowdeath present a unique and fresh live experience where their effervescent energy and playful and technical creativity seem limitless. Each track takes the listener on a sonorous foray with dramatic breaks and quirky rhythms, only to surprise again and again with melodic and playful parts. A constant alternation of opposing poles such as melancholy and euphoria, gentle staccato and brute minimalism.
The duo was founded in Berlin in 2017 by US drummer Sara Neidorf, who lives in Berlin, and bassist Isabel Merten, who lives in Bielefeld. Anyone trying to categorize them musically will use keywords such as instrumental music, jazz, doom metal, surf rock, punk and progressive rock. The musicians bring their complex music to a scene that has so far been dominated by men.
In 2018, the duo self-released the EP "Deadly Stares".
Since then, Mellowdeath has played around 40 concerts across Germany as well as in Vienna, Amsterdam and Prague. These include numerous shows with international, renowned guest musicians who have been able to contribute to the composition of the lead instruments drums and bass with theremin, guitar and synthesizer, among others.

Oscillating between doom and punk, the sound of the "trio with the band name" is always based on distorted string instruments and brute drumming. Banana of Death combine anger, humor, friendship and loudness with a musical obsession.
Siblings Sarah and Jascha and BFF Wiete have been a band since their tender teenage years and play their way through basement clubs, festivals and rallies. They have performed at SO36 and as support for the Mekons, among others. As part of the Berlin DIY collective "B.R.U.N.O. ist dagegen" (B.R.U.N.O. is against it), which does politics from below in the Berlin music scene, they can be heard at solo concerts and on samplers. Their second studio album "Breaking the Law" was released in 2025.
