The two-part project "Resonances of Modernism" links modernism and the first avant-garde of the early 20th century with the second, the post-war avant-garde, as well as with the present day, which is regarded as both postmodernism and its overcoming.

The selection of works by Arnold Schönberg (1874-1951), Luigi Nono (1924-1990), Peter Ablinger (*1959) and Olga Rayeva (*1971) shows the continuity of musical experimentation - the restless exploration of new territory, both in sound and in the way of making music. The ambivalence between breaking with tradition and returning to it is palpable.

Mikhail Mordvinov became known through two outstanding competition successes: he won both the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau in 1996 and the Franz Schubert Competition in Dortmund in 1997. From the age of 7, he attended piano classes at the Gnessin Music School in Moscow. This was followed by studies at the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music. He completed postgraduate studies at the Hanover University of Music and Drama.

Mikhail Mordvinov has now lived in Berlin for many years and is currently a lecturer at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. His intensive concert life has taken him to numerous concert appearances worldwide as a solo pianist and chamber musician, to participation in major festivals and to renowned radio and CD productions. Audiences appreciate the intimacy and vitality of his playing, genuine passion and refined taste, virtuoso skill and the maturity of his interpretations.
