MiO MACABRE - Munich International Orchestra with Trio Wellcaru

In February 2026, the MiO will play a program in Munich's Herkulessaal that demonstrates musical diversity and expressiveness.

- Max Reger: The Isle of the Dead, op. 128

- Camille Saint-Saëns: Danse macabre, op. 40, (Soloist: Matthias Well)

- Vladislav Cojocaru: commissioned composition "Flames" (with the Trio Wellcaru)

- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6, op. 74

Max Reger's "The Isle of the Dead" opens the evening with an intense setting of the painting of the same name. Camille Saint-Saëns' "Danse macabre" is performed with Matthias Well as solo violinist and impresses with its technical precision and impressive tone colors. A special focus will be on the world premiere of a commissioned composition by Vladislav Cojocaru, which will be performed together with the Trio Wellcaru - Matthias Well, Maria Well and Vladislav Cojocaru. The trio combines classical chamber music with elements of world music and gives the evening a special touch. The concert will conclude with Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony "Pathétique", a work of great emotional depth and expressiveness. The concert offers a balanced mixture of late romantic music and contemporary compositions and is aimed at all those who appreciate intensive musical exchange.
