Mishpocha: Textures of Togetherness. Weaving a Collab. Home

In the organizer's words:

A hands-on workshop for the whole family! Young and old are invited to work together on a colorful tapestry. Each family, each child and each adult contributes their own knot. We playfully discover the importance of community and cohesion - inspired by Jewish traditions. The workshop takes place at the Museumsuferfest and gets us in the mood for the upcoming Sukkot festival. The finished carpet will later decorate our sukkah.

Jessica Ostrowicz comes from an Eastern European Jewish family and grew up in London. Her artistic work deals with transgenerational trauma, family history and the question of how a sense of home can be (re)created. Her experiences as an art teacher in a prison have had a lasting impact on her perspective on these themes.

Admission is free of charge. Please register in advance by August 25, 2026 at: besuch.jmf@stadt-frankfurt.de
