Missio on tour in Germany in June

Missio have big plans. Back in 2023, the Texan duo made their own sensitivities, habits and feelings the subject of their music with a series of EPs. On February 14 - Valentine's Day of all days - they released "I Am Sad" about all the sad things that have happened to Matthew Brue and his partner David Butler. This was followed in August by "I Am High", which is not about drugs at all, but looks in a completely different direction in which escape is possible. The third album, "I Am Awesome", was released in December. Now it's about the lack of self-confidence that has always accompanied the two and the mantra "You are awesome", which now helps them in such situations: "When we are reminded that there is hope in the words, it always leads to other hopeful and positive thoughts. It sounds cheesy, but this EP is hopefully a confidence booster for us all." The music that Missio has developed for it is consequently much more forward than on the first EP, but is again not as escapist as on EP number two. Consequently, the "I Am" concept continues this year and finds its (temporary?) conclusion in the upcoming album "I Am Cinco", which will be released in May. Overall, it is noticeable that the sound has become even more diverse and eclectic than we are already used to from Missio. Transcendent and floating electro sounds can be heard on the records as well as heavy electric guitars, rapped parts can be heard as well as spoken word or clear vocals. All of this is never an end in itself, but supports the content and messages of the tracks. The Texans tune into different emotions and channel bursts of energy into anthems that span a sonic spectrum of alternative, electronic, rock, indie and hip-hop. Feelings of sadness, numbness and happiness correspond with subsets of songs, while the overall body of work depicts the entire spectrum of human existence. Missio will then be coming to Germany for a total of three shows in June.
