»Mit einem Tiger schlafen« von Anja Salomonowitz (2024)

"Sleeping with a Tiger" is a biographically inspired film about the Austrian artist Maria Lassnig, directed by Anja Salomonowitz in 2024 and starring Birgit Minichmayr in the lead role. It traces her journey as an artist and her struggle for recognition in a male-dominated art world. The film centers on Lassnig’s unique “body-conscious painting,” through which she made forms of physical perception and inner states visible. The film combines real episodes from her life with partly surreal imagery, thus painting a portrait of an independent, strong artist who sought her own personal and artistic expression.
