Mitmachaktion: „(D)ein Ding aus den 90ern“

In the organizer's words:

The State Museum of Art & Culture Oldenburg is calling for participation: For an exhibition planned from September 2027, the museum team is looking for objects from the 1990s that can be included as exhibits in the special exhibition. Interested parties can present their objects at the Landesmuseum every third Thursday of the month.

With the special exhibition "No Limit! The 90s between awakening and change", the Landesmuseum will continue its popular series of cultural history decade exhibitions from September 2027. The classic canon of topics ranging from politics and history to art, music and pop culture to technology and media will be expanded to include interdisciplinary, cross-genre issues.

In order to make it possible to experience the decade in as many different ways as possible and to gain loans from the field of everyday culture for the exhibition, Oldenburg residents can present their personal objects from the 1990s - and thus possibly become part of the exhibition. Anything that is characteristic of the decade is welcome - whether band posters, tickets, CDs, DVDs, items of clothing, small electronics, toys, sporting goods, arts and crafts objects or other everyday objects. A good and presentable state of preservation is desirable.

"We look forward to active participation and hope to gain exciting exhibits in this way that will enrich our exhibition," says Prof. Dr. Marcus Kenzler, who is curating the exhibition together with Dr. Eike Lossin. "We also hope that this will result in a participatory exhibition that makes direct reference to life in Oldenburg."
