MITMACHAKTION: Frida malt Freude - Mitmachaktion
In the organizer's words:
Come join us for a reading and hands-on activity based on the children’s book *Frida Paints Joy* on August 6, 2026, August 13, 2026, and August 14, 2026, at your Hugendubel bookstore in Würzburg!
This lovingly crafted children’s book encourages kids to let their imaginations run wild and express their feelings through art. Colors can be bold, shapes and lines can dance—because that’s exactly what art is: a space where every child can be exactly who they are. In the workshop that follows, the author invites children to get creative themselves. Through simple projects, children are playfully introduced to their feelings and their own art.
About the book:
This lovingly crafted children’s book encourages children to let their imaginations run wild and to
artistically. Frida discovers a magical studio where Carlo, the artist dog, shows her that there’s no “right” or “wrong” when it comes to painting. Colors can be wild, shapes and lines can dance—because art is exactly that: a space where every child can be exactly who they are.
In the second part, the book invites readers to get creative themselves. The author and communication designer Julia Heinrich has put together a colorful collection of craft and painting ideas that were carefully selected and tested in practice with children. The result is a series of simple projects that playfully introduce children to their feelings and their own art. All the ideas can be carried out with just a few materials and are perfect for use at home, in the classroom, or in educational settings.
About the Author:
Julia Heinrich has been a communication designer and illustrator in Würzburg since 2008. In her own shop-studio, “mit Herz und Heinrich,” in the Zellerau neighborhood, she lovingly creates her illustrations, books, and many charming products. She also delights children and adults alike with numerous creative workshops held there. With her first children’s book, she is now fulfilling a very special dream and inviting listeners of all ages on an imaginative—and above all, emotional and creative—journey.
After the reading, 8 children at a time can participate in the workshop, create a project from the magical studio, and take it home with them.
Note 1:
One ticket should be booked per child so that we can offer enough seating. Parents who wish to actively participate in the event themselves and sit next to their child also need a ticket. All guests with a ticket are guaranteed a seat, can actively participate in the event, and can get an autograph.
Parents who are simply accompanying their child to the store and are not participating in the event themselves do not need a ticket and may remain in the rest of the bookstore during the event. Please note: Guests without a ticket are not entitled to a seat in the event area.
Note 2:
If you are interested in both the reading and the workshop, you must purchase a ticket for both. If you are interested in only the reading or only the workshop, you must purchase the corresponding ticket.
