A comic opera with an open ending by Justus Wilcken and Konstantin Dupelius

World population growth is out of control, resources are dwindling. Despite the crisis, humanity remains unshakeable in its insatiability. The planet is becoming increasingly uninhabitable and is being shaken by the effects of the Anthropocene. A clever entrepreneur finds a way out: a drug that boosts brain power. Under the influence of the drug, America and Europe come up with a saving idea: a colony must be established on the moon. From here, the "cleansing" of the Earth and the path to a controlled apocalypse are to be controlled in order to cleanse the planet and make it habitable again for a select elite. No sooner said than done, a colony is founded on the Earth's satellite. However, in order to keep the colony alive, an expedition to the moon lake becomes necessary. But the expedition does not go as planned.

The duo Justus Wilcken and Konstantin Dupelius have been composing avant-garde music somewhere between classical and electro for many years. With their formation OMG Schubert, they are highly successful in concert halls and clubs, and their theater music for Im Taumel des Zorns was nominated for the German Theater Prize DER FAUST in 2024. This project is their first opera and a contemporary parable that will be created in collaboration with the Mainfranken Theater ensemble and an amateur choir from the city.
