Montagsprosa: Konrad Bogusław Bach liest „Der Wisent“

In the organizer's words:

"It was Europe's fault" - this is how the first chapter of the exciting road movie "The Bison" begins, in which Konrad Bogusław Bach sends two "older gentlemen", his two protagonists Heniek and Andrzej, on a long journey: from their small Polish home village, which they never actually wanted to leave, to Domburg on the Dutch coast. With empathy and humor, the novel tells of the adventurous journey west in search of Heniek's wife Beatka. It is a journey that also leads back to the protagonists' Polish past, while at the same time revealing new perspectives on Germany through foreign eyes.

Poland celebrates 20 years of membership of the European Union in 2024. How has the country changed during this time? What is Poland's role in the European Union today? In conversation with the author Konrad Bogusław Bach, we will take a look at the Polish perspective on Europe.

Konrad Bogusław Bach, born in 1984 in Naklo nad Notecia, Poland, grew up in Hanover and studied theater studies, Catholic theology, Latin and Greek philology and screenwriting in Berlin, Krakow and Rome. Doctorate on "Laughter in the performance". He lives between cultures with his family in the German-Polish border town of Guben/Gubin. "Der Wisent" is his first novel.
