On the first Thursday of every month, MONTBLANC HAUS extends its opening hours until 9 pm - including the MONTBLANC HAUS Boutique and Bistro 149. Admission is free from 6 pm to 9 pm. Every month there is a different program that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Inspire Writing.

Today, the home of writing becomes your exclusive living room: take some inspiring time out and immerse yourself in your favorite book in this special ambience.

Visiting the exhibition is free of charge from 6pm to 9pm.

With the MONTBLANC HAUS, the Hamburg-based company has created a place that inspires writing. INSPIRE WRITING: The permanent exhibition

In the immediate vicinity of our company headquarters and the manufactory where Montblanc writing instruments are made, the INSPIRE WRITING exhibition tells the story of the start-up that later became Montblanc. Discover original handwriting from icons such as Ernest Hemingway, Frida Kahlo and Jackie Chan on more than 410 Montblanc writing instruments, from historic fountain pens to the latest models. Take a look behind the scenes of writing instrument production. Find out how our nibs are made and immerse yourself in the world of writing.

INSPIRE WRITING | FILMMAKING: The temporary exhibition

In addition to the permanent exhibition, we also have a changing temporary exhibition that shows new perspectives on the written word. In 2024, Montblanc is celebrating a very special event: 100 years of Meisterstück. An icon that has inspired people all over the world to write. To mark the occasion, star director Wes Anderson produced a campaign written in his own iconic style, inspired by Montblanc and Mont Blanc. INSPIRE WRITING | FILMMAKING shows parts of the original film set, alongside other objects from the world of film, provided by the Deutsche Kinemathek in Berlin and the Film- und Fernsehmuseum Hamburg e.V.

EXPERIENCE A DAY AT THE MONTBLANC HOUSE

At MONTBLANC HAUS, we want to inspire all age groups to write: Whether as an outing with the family, a calligraphy course in our Writing Atelier or a visit to the Montblanc manufactory.

The MONTBLANC HAUS boutique and the in-house café Bistro149 invite you to linger - even without a ticket for the exhibition.
