Morgenstern Quartett München

In the organizer's words:

Three female composers, four female musicians - concentrated female power!
The Morgenstern Quartet Munich, which has been playing together for over ten years, presents works by Fanny Hensel, Caroline Shaw and Jenny Peña Campo.

Fanny Hensel's highly romantic string quartet is reminiscent of her brother Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Midsummer Night's Dream" in its tonal language. Caroline Shaw paints musical landscapes in Plan & Elevation, while Cuban composer Jenny Peña Campo combines Central American sounds with contemporary musical language in Nanga ti feo Variaciones and Camino por vereda.

Since 2012, the Morgenstern Quartet has passionately dedicated itself to well-known and newly discovered chamber music repertoire. The ensemble has received musical inspiration from Prof. Friedemann Berger and Daniel Avshalomov.

Instrumentation:
Regine Nosske, Catherine von der Nahmer - violins
Julia Ruge - viola
Franziska Brandis - violoncello
