Moritz is not a rapper. Nor is he a classic singer-songwriter. Like a Gen Z version of mid-1990s Beck, he takes influences from hip-hop, indie rock and electronic music to create his very own style of music that doesn't fit easily into the old-school mold.
After spending a lot of time at Andalusian raves and festivals with his multicultural circle of friends, Moritz finally moved to Berlin. He immersed himself in the up-and-coming cloud rap and trap scene and became friends with rapper Longus Mongus from BHZ.
They recorded a track together, "Issues", which was loved by listeners, playlist curators and algorithms alike. Moritz soon switched to singing exclusively English lyrics. More successful songs followed, and the industry took notice.
