Motel Bed: A Pillow Princess Fantasy

In the organizer's words:

A nameless motel, a room, a bed in it. The satin bed linen is shiny pink, the bed frame is heart-shaped: a queen-size bed. In it, five queens of the night, five vaudeville artists of the sheets. A place where intimate memories of many different bodies and times mingle and secrets are revealed...

The production "Motel Bed" is a queer variety evening that takes place in and around a motel bed. The bed functions as a scenographic and performative centerpiece, a stage on which five queer artists move between singing, dancing, storytelling and acting.

The piece explores themes of intimacy, love, desire and identity through a non-linear structure. A show that turns genre expectations on their head and explores the interface between the private and the public.
