Dance movie night with Mr. Gaga"

Wintertime at the EinTanzHaus. This year, the stage will once again become a winter cube during the cold weeks, where a concentrated program of presentation formats, dance festivals, further training for the team and for the scene, dance film evenings and other community events can take place in a cosy atmosphere. At the dance film evenings, we want to sit, lie, dance and watch together with you on the warm stage: Blankets, pillows, warm drinks and our huge movie screen are ready for you.

Mr. Gaga

Ohad Naharin, who grew up in the Israeli Kibuzz Misra, is celebrated worldwide as one of the most outstanding contemporary choreographers. With his unusual artistic vision and captivating choreographies, he helped the Batsheva Dance Company achieve international fame. As artistic director of the Israeli ensemble, Naharin developed a completely new movement language: "Gaga". This breaks through familiar movement patterns, "Gaga" seeks interaction between the participants, who work together to create a movement space of freedom and comfort. For Naharin, it is about passion, bursting power, the extreme, the pleasure of the moment and breaking boundaries. As a revolutionary of modern dance, Ohad Naharin is invited to internationally renowned venues, including the Staatsoper Berlin, to work on his works with the respective companies.

Award-winning director Tomer Heymann ("Paper Dolls", "I Shot My Love" and "Who's Gonna Love Me Now?") shows the hard work behind the powerful and breathtaking performances of the Batsheva Dance Company, how Naharin became a celebrated choreographer and who "Mr. Gaga" really is.
