In the organizer's words:
They were initially regarded as the "serene games" of Munich, but on September 5, 1972, the assassination attempt on the Israeli Olympic team brought the Olympic Games to an abrupt halt. Eleven members of the Israeli team were murdered in Munich, and a German police officer was also killed. Since 2017, there has been a memorial site in the Olympic Park to commemorate the victims. On a tour through the park, visitors can visit the site and learn about the history before and after.
In cooperation with the Jewish Museum Munich.
