MOZART!

The Munich Classical Players under the direction of Maximilian Leinekugel have been inspiring audiences with unusual concerts of classical music since 2016. The chamber orchestra, consisting of musicians from German and Austrian music academies, will present its Mozart! program in the Silbersaal for the first time in July.

SYMPHONY NO. 40 AND WIND SERENADES

The focus of the concert is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's famous Symphony No. 40 in G minor, which he composed in Vienna in 1788. Together with Symphonies Nos. 39 and 41, which were composed at the same time, it marks the high point of his symphonic output and is particularly captivating due to its dramatic, agitated character. The two wind serenades K. 375 and K. 388 are juxtaposed with the symphony. Both works were composed in Vienna in 1781/82 at virtually the same time and could not be more different: The Serenade in E flat major K. 375 is characterized by its brilliance, while the Serenade in C minor K. 388 is one of Mozart's darkest compositions.

The Munich Classical Players are a collective of aspiring professional musicians who work together to create thrilling concert performances. The Munich-based chamber orchestra was founded in 2016 by conductor Maximilian Leinekugel. Under his direction, extraordinary orchestral projects are realized that inspire new audiences and get them excited about classical music. From baroque compositions to world premieres of contemporary music, from well-known works to the never-before-heard - the repertoire of the Munich Classical Players is diverse, surprising and distinctive. In an effort to make classical music accessible to everyone, the chamber orchestra also performs outside the established concert halls in Munich and Bavaria.
