he multi-award-winning "Living Couch" is a particular highlight. What initially looks like an ordinary piece of seating furniture turns out to be an interactive performance. The couch begins to whisper and engages in conversation with visitors.

There is also plenty for children to discover: a lovingly designed paper theater invites them to marvel. On show will be Engelbert Humperdinck's opera "Die Königskinder", which premiered at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1910, adapted for the paper theater, carefully shortened and brought to the small stage with historical backdrops and figures in an entertaining and fairytale-like way for young opera lovers and adults.

The program also includes creative hands-on activities such as making pop-up cards in the mobile bookbindery and children's art school and pottery with potter Silja Schüler.

TO THE PROGRAM

In addition to interesting guided tours through the house, the popular nude and portrait drawing course is also back on site. Visitors will have the opportunity to look over the artists' shoulders and have their portraits drawn.

The Museum Day is supported by the Association of Friends of the City Museum.

The MuseumMobil container of the Haus der Geschichte Nordrhein-Westfalen awaits visitors on the market square from 10 am to 6 pm. There will be an opportunity to talk to the team and explore the exhibition.

From 2 p.m., all interested parties are invited to bring along personal items from the period after 1946 with their stories and donate them to the Haus der Geschichte for the new museum.

International Museum Day at the Stadtmuseum promises to be a creative and entertaining day for the whole family.
