Immerse yourself in the world of music and experience a top-class vesper on Saturday, June 14 at 5.00 pm in Dresden's Kreuzkirche. A special highlight of the musical hour is undoubtedly Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's heaven-storming motet "Exsultate, jubilate" KV 165.

This masterpiece sparkles with joie de vivre and virtuosity. The radiant coloratura and melodious arches of the soprano voice, interpreted by the outstanding Romy Petrick, will transport you into a sphere of pure musical bliss. The motet, originally written for a castrato, places the highest demands on the soloist and is performed with bravura and emotional depth by Romy Petrick.

Music by W.A. Mozart in the vespers

The Dresden Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra under the direction of organist Holger Gehring forms a sonorous and dynamic partner. The lively orchestral passages correspond wonderfully with the soprano voice and carry the jubilant mood of the work.

The music program is complemented by other Mozart compositions, including the festive Overture in C major from KV 399 and the intimate Adagio in C major KV 356 for solo organ, played by Kreuz organist Holger Gehring on the impressive Kreuzkirche organ. You can also look forward to Johann Christian Bach's elegant Concerto in E flat major for organ and orchestra and Mozart's moving Laudate Dominum from the Vesperae solennes de Confessore K. 339, another aria for soprano, orchestra and organ.
