Musikalischer Salon: Les Nations
In the organizer's words:
Couperin, Bach, Reincken, and Zelenka: KAP musicians explore the golden age of the Italian trio sonata
The Italian trio sonata caused a sensation throughout Europe in the 18th century. It inspired the French composer François Couperin to write his trio collection “Les Nations,” published in 1726, which experiments with various musical styles under quasi-programmatic titles. Following last season’s performances of the suites “La Françoise” and “L’Imperiale,” “La Piémontoise” now continues Couperin’s exploration of the Italian style.
Further perspectives are provided by works by Johann Adam Reincken, an important representative of the North German organ school, as well as by Johann Sebastian Bach and Jan Dismas Zelenka, whose rediscovery has become a tradition at the KAP’s Musical Salon.
Ensuring barrier-free access for all our guests is very important to us. However, due to the current architectural layout, the Palais Lichtenau is unfortunately not barrier-free at this time.
