Musikfestival: Cheng² Duo - Geschwisterglück hoch zwei

In the organizer's words:

Cellist Bryan Cheng, already a re:start artist in 2022 and a member of the Festivalcampus ensemble in 2024, will be performing his own concert at "Frühling" for the first time this year: For this debut, he is bringing along his sister, pianist Silvie Cheng. Together they have formed the Cheng² Duo since 2011. However, the Canadian-Chinese siblings have actually been making music together since their earliest childhood. Bryan and Silvie also make this familial bond the theme of their program, for example by exploring the imaginary connection between the music of Shostakovich and the Georgian Sulkhan Tsintsadze. They juxtapose Beethoven's Duo Sonata in A major with a "sibling work" inspired by it, "A Portrait of the Imaginary Sibling", which they commissioned from the Canadian Dinuk Wijeratne.
