Music Salon // Extra: From E. T. A. Hoffmann to Bohuslav Martinů
In the opening matinee of the Musiksalon, the diversity of our season 25.26 unfolds: with Bohuslav Martinů's songs, our new bass-baritone Renatus Mészár transports us to the folkloric soundscapes of the Czech Republic, while E. T. A. Hoffmann's harp quintet seems to hover between dream and reality with poetic lightness. In between, the seven early songs by Alban Berg open up an expressionist view into the soulscape of the early 20th century, performed in a string quartet version by ensemble member Ruth Häde with the Ostara Quartet. Opera director Albrecht Puhlmann moderates the program, explains connections and invites the audience to discover the themes of the season together. A contribution to the exhibition "Kirchner, Lehmbruck, Nolde" at the Kunsthalle Mannheim.
