My Sister Grenadine plays minimalist folk with attention to detail. Their music is an encounter with sound and language, near and far, openness and reduction. Free folk, John Cage pop, radical softness.
My Sister Grenadine lives in different places. In places that are actually songs. She moves between silence and diversity, surface and structure, noise and melody. It tells of shy volcanoes and homeless cities, of curiosity and solidarity, of combed teeth and colliding landscapes.

my sister grenadine is...
...not a sister. It is an open box where everyone puts letters in. Unwritten ones, strange ones. Full of sharp thoughts and nonsense. The box is not a box, though.
It is a steady sound. Mystical mysterious. Never ending, changing. Constantly standing still and always moving. The sound is more like whispering.
Silent words in our ears. About night and day and everything in between. All again and all different again.
This is what we wish to share. With a sister.
With all of them.
reviews
My Sister Grenadine is a songwriting project that wins you over with its always light and sensual sounding, but enormously complex and substantial pieces. Very fresh, very skillfully conceived and very, very beautiful.
Intro
You can hardly speak of sound experiments here. Rather a unique idea of music. Wonderfully crazy. Listening advice: everything.

Great Berlin discovery!

It's difficult to pinpoint the genre of this self-confident band, their music could be labeled with any number of anti- or freakfolk labels - but the intrusive hipster or nature boy image of the modern city dweller, which is often associated with them, is pleasantly absent here. The lyrics move between private macro-section and social wide-angle and demand increased attention. My Sister Grenadine are probably one of the few bands who - despite their successful records! - only really open up live with the use of all the senses.
