Nachbarn bei Nachbarn - Neuhardenberg im Wechsel der Geschichte
In the organizer's words:
INVITATION: Neuhardenberg through the ages
Reading, music and historical lecture in the Schinkel Church on July 5, 2026
The Stiftung Zukunft Berlin and its cooperation partners cordially invite you to the next event in the "Neighbors with Neighbors" series:
- Date: Sunday, July 5, 2026, 14:00-16:00
- Location: Schinkel Church Neuhardenberg, Schinkelplatz 1, 15320 Neuhardenberg
Neuhardenberg is more than just a place - it is a symbol of resistance, new beginnings and living history. This event combines literature, music and historical classification and shows why this place can remember and connect like no other:
- Detlef Bierstedt (actor, dubbing artist) reads Theodor Fontane's "Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg" - a lively journey through time to the Oderbruch, accompanied by the sounds of the organ (Anette Jankowski).
- Count Andreas von Hardenberg (member of the Neighbors with Neighbors working group) puts the place in socio-historical perspective: From the Prussian reforms to the resistance against National Socialism to the revival after the fall of the Berlin Wall in the context of his own eventful family history.
- Insight into the exhibition "Of Gardens, Landscapes and Pictures" - A look at the role of the Neuhardenberg Castle Foundation and the German Savings Banks Giro Association as drivers of the cultural renaissance of the site by member Uwe Rosenberg.
- Concluding discussion over coffee and cake in the distillery
Since 2013, the Stiftung Zukunft Berlin has been organizing readings with artists from Berlin in Brandenburg's village churches. The aim: to connect Berliners and Brandenburgers and promote cultural exchange. The series is supported by the Schloss Neuhardenberg Foundation, the German Savings Banks Association (DSGV) and funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
Price information:
The event is free, but we are happy to receive donations for the preservation of the Schinkelkirche as well as your own contribution to the exchange over coffee and cake, ideally by registering via the link and indicating your participation to reserve the tables.
