What is it all about?

Sustainability in design is often presented as an ideal - bamboo stools, recycled materials,
green labels. But what does this look like in practice? What really works when the budget is tight
and the time pressure is great?

The lecture gives an honest insight into my work as a designer: what works, where the limits are and what it all costs.
and what it all costs. Real projects with real decisions - including a
critical look at material myths and greenwashing.
The lecture will be followed by an interactive workshop in which the participants will
analyze everyday objects for their sustainability.

ABOUT THE STUDIO

Studio Kluge is a Leipzig-based design studio for interior, product design and scenography - founded with a clear attitude: spaces should work for the people who use them. Built to last, not to follow trends.
In her work, Laura Kluge consciously seeks out production partners beyond the traditional furniture industry and tests the limits of unconventional materials.
The studio fills a gap in the Leipzig market: contemporary, unconventionally conceived design that understands sustainability not as a stylistic device, but as a method. Design for disassembly, modular systems, local circular partnerships - resource conservation is the logical consequence of unconventional material thinking.
