Cult event heralds the foolish season

The "Night of the Vampires" is back at the castle on February 7

When the prince of darkness invites you to dance, Heidelberg Castle becomes a stage for vampires, werewolves and other nocturnal creatures: The "Night of the Vampires" has long been regarded as the big carnival warm-up with cult status in the Rhine-Neckar region. Year after year, imaginatively disguised guests make the pilgrimage to the royal seat above the city - and many invest weeks in spectacular costumes, from opulent vampire robes to extremely detailed fantasy creations. The entrance is always a veritable costume catwalk in the middle of the audience. The party is held on two levels: In the historic Königssaal and the rustic Fasskeller, two DJs heat up the undead and the intrepid with an energetic mix - from cult hits from the 80s and 90s to the latest club sounds. While the dance floor fills up with classics and modern remixes on one level, the second level provides additional party atmosphere with a variety of beats. A highlight of the night is the big costume competition. Those who impress with their creativity, courage to transform and stage presence can hope to win first-class prizes worth a total of 600 euros. The mixture of party, performance and the art of transformation makes the spooky castle night a fixed date in the calendar of many carnival fans - and one of the most popular events at Heidelberg Castle. The dress code for the night is therefore clear: horror in all shapes, colors and facets. Dressing up is not only allowed, but expressly encouraged - because it's the imaginative outfits that make the Schaurige Schlossnacht that eerily good party where you literally dance the night away.

There are various tickets to choose from for entry into the nocturnal parallel world: the party ticket costs 29.50 euros (Box Office: 35 euros). If you want to toast the whole night without cash, book the drinks package option in advance for 69.50 euros and enjoy selected top wines, gin and tonics, long drinks and mocktails at the wine bar. The all-inclusive ticket for 119.50 euros again includes admission, the drinks package and a sumptuous spooky buffet. (The buffet cannot be booked later.) Spooky buffet from 6-8.30 pm - party starts & admission 8.30 pm - ends at 2.00 am.
