In the organizer's words:
With a lineup never before heard, the group Nancelot—led by Swiss jazz flutist Nancy Meier—sets out for new horizons and opens up new perspectives for jazz: Four transverse flutes and a drum set create sonic labyrinths without the grounding provided by a bass or keyboard instrument. “Nancelot” is also the title of the band’s debut album, which develops a language for four identical instruments that harmonizes with the drums. “Nancelot” is a suite in which impressionistic soundscapes are imaginatively and ironically disrupted. The result is highly complex yet playful jazz that flirts with both Debussy and Ravel as well as driving grooves.
