It's a day like any other. Whether it's Friedensplatz, Stadtgarten, Westpark, Nordmarkt or Fredenbaum. The city is buzzing. Life goes on as usual. People cheer, sirens wail, cars race, flowers bloom. But then suddenly large, gray, enormous animals gallop through the cityscape. The ground trembles, unbelievable amounts of dust are stirred up. What is it? Are they perhaps rhinos? Are they animals at all? Are they real or do they come from our imagination? What's happening?

"We are on the job with everything that makes us tick."
Every year since 2017, the theater group "Normal gib's schon", supported by Ekkehard Freye from Schaupiel Dortmund, has developed a theater work inspired by dramatic texts, their own poetry and interwoven with their own musical ideas. After last year's evening "Lange rede-kurzes Gesicht" (Long talk-short face), this year they have dedicated themselves to the Dortmund "landmark" of the rhinoceros , loosely based on Ionesco. With their own texts and music, they seek to track down current social changes. Their play development is based on the question: What are the stories that burn under our nails, that we love and that make us laugh and cry?
