Nathan Ott Quartett: Coltrane100

He is a drummer who creates space, crafting finely nuanced soundscapes for his fellow musicians while skillfully guiding the music with elegant subtlety: Nathan Ott is by no means a new face on the European jazz scene. In his current quartet, he joins forces with a key figure in European jazz. Together, they perform a tightly coordinated, atmospherically dense, contemporary style of music capable of building to any dynamic crescendo without ever losing its grounding—a highly intense live experience.

Their latest album, *Continuum* (2025 on An:Bruch)—a direct-to-tape recording from the legendary Bauer Studios—was included in the shortlist for the German Record Critics’ Award.
