Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid's Tale) plays Gareth Southgate in James Graham's (Best of Enemies) gripping examination of nation and game.
The country that gave the world soccer has since suffered a painful series of defeats. Why can't England's men win at their own game?
Gareth Southgate, who has the worst penalty-kicking record in the world, knows he must open up and face up to years of hurt to lead his team and country back to the promised land.
Rupert Goold (Judy) directs this spectacular new play, filmed live on stage at the National Theatre.
