A musical journey around the world with the double bass. A memorable, extraordinary solo evening awaits us, where the double bass is presented in a new fifth/quarter tuning in a way and variety probably never heard before.

A large part of the repertoire consists of works by contemporary composers such as François Rabbath, Simón García, Andrés Martín, Renaud Garcia Fons, Giorgi Makhoshvili and others.

Musical influences from different cultures are clearly crystallized, such as Celtic folklore, Andalusian impressions, Balkan rhythms, North Indian raga music...

Originally classically trained, Christian Hinz later became a student of the French virtuoso François Rabbath in Paris, who taught him his "Nouvelle Technique de la Contrebasse".

Christian Hinz presents the works in his own arrangements, as his own tuning of the double bass in C, G, D, g, c, offers new musical possibilities. The result is a very resonant sound with an extended range.

Christian practices different playing styles on his instrument. He plays with both French and German bows and has transferred guitar techniques to the double bass.
