When jazz sounds meet social commitment, the result is an unforgettable symbiosis that touches music fans and brings about change. On May 18, the Leo Clubs invite you to an extraordinary night at the Prinzregententheater in Munich. Organized by young people between the ages of 18 and 23, led by jazz musician and organizer Konstantin Kölmel, the Benefit Jazz Gala brings together renowned artists to play and raise funds for the Leo education project in Kenya.
This year's gala features an impressive line-up of jazz stars such as Echo Jazz winner Nils Wülker, young star Jakob Manz, Munich's star bassist Nils Kugelmann and Bujazzo singer Kilian Sladek. The ensemble will be complemented by Kölmel's band (Justin Zitt and Valentin Hansel), which will transport the audience into a world full of passion and rhythm. The evening promises to be a highlight for all jazz lovers who want to do good beyond the music. The unique all-star band combines the most exciting things that young German jazz has to offer and will delight even inexperienced jazz listeners with groovy, catchy music from jazz, groove and funk.
The young people involved in the Leo Club have already shown in the past, for example together with Nils Landgren, that music and commitment can go hand in hand to make educational opportunities accessible to all. The proceeds from the evening will go directly to educational projects that aim to provide free university education in remote regions of the world. The young team is passionate about promoting higher education and equal opportunities. They have already been able to open an education center in Kenya and were invited to the UN Lions Day in New York
