In the organizer's words:

The beginning of spring is the time in the annual cycle when nature begins to blossom and grow again, when people become more awake and aware, when "the spirit stirs".

Growth is also a sign of contemporary music: simple structures build on each other, grow and interlink, play with each other, separate and continue to grow and interlink. This can be found in creative thinking, as a formal process, as a growth of the material for the musicians and in notation-open structures as interaction between the musicians through to the improvisational nature of individual sections.
The NKM's newly composed works operate within this spectrum. Each of the ensemble's composers, including Christoph Reiserer, Friedemann von Rechenberg, Alexander Strauch, Leon Zmelty and Caio de Azevedo, will begin with a structural, formal or thematic nucleus and allow it to grow and network between the musicians, most of whom are themselves.
For example, it clearly grows from solo to tutti, from very simple to virtuoso, musical-electronic algorithms build up. This can be purely musical, but it can also be understood as a critique of the system of economic growth. They are joined by works by colleagues for whom artistic processes and ideas of growth are also important. Elnaz Seyedi will perform "Nebenweg" for electric guitar and violin and Jakob Stillmark (mgnm Verhört series 2025) with "Wacht" for 3 instruments.
