No Cigar

With their laid-back, groovy indie rock, No Cigar has built a growing fan base worldwide. In November 2026, the band from Aotearoa, New Zealand, will come to Germany for three concerts. Following sold-out tours in the UK and New Zealand, the quintet is bringing its first headlining tour to Germany.

Since their formation in Auckland, the band has gradually gained recognition beyond New Zealand with their laid-back yet driving guitar sound. No Cigar blends indie rock, surf influences, and alt-pop melodies into a sound that’s both light on its feet and rhythmically forward-moving. Willy Ferrier (lead vocals), Josh Morrice (guitar and vocals), Arthur Gillies (guitar and vocals), Sam Benson (bass), and Ned Gow (drums) have developed this laid-back sound while consistently leaving room for atmospheric moments and sonic experiments. Songs like “Cool” or “These Are The Days” exemplify just how effortlessly the band can shift between laid-back indie rock and emotional depth. With three studio albums to date, No Cigar has continuously refined its style. Following their debut “Bienvenido” (2022) and its 2023 follow-up “The Great Escape”—which also brought the band greater international attention—their most ambitious work to date, “Under The Surface,” was released in 2025. Much of this album was created during the band’s European tour in Chantilly, a small town north of Paris. There, the five members rehearsed, wrote, and recorded new music while traveling across Europe. The album was completed during their most recent tour of New Zealand in collaboration with producer Connor Jaine.

It’s especially on stage that it becomes clear why No Cigar has been able to build such a loyal fan base in such a short time. Their concerts thrive on a mix of driving guitar riffs, dynamic songwriting, and the palpable energy of a band that feels right at home performing live. At three concerts in November, fans in Germany will now have the opportunity to experience No Cigar live and witness their infectious enthusiasm for performing firsthand.
