Nuremberg, 1945: The Allies decide to conduct the first trial based on international law against the remaining big names of the Nazi regime. The most prominent figure in the dock: Hermann Göring. Psychiatrist Douglas M. Kelley is called in to prepare for the trial. He is to assess the defendants' mental state and investigate the motivations behind the atrocities.
